We take a look inside Vladimir Putin’s private jet and how it compares to Air Force One in which Donald Trump flies
There are plenty of perks that come with being president of a nation, one of which is getting to travel in style.
Forget long check-in queues or lack of leg room in a cramped plane; presidents get their own glamorous jets as they travel around the globe.
Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are no exception, both getting to fly in some pretty swanky planes with seriously luxurious interiors.
For example, Putin travels in a private jet complete with a bedroom, gym and conference room, while Trump is transported on Air Force One aircraft which have carried US presidents for decades.
But how exactly do the two compare? We take a look inside the jaw-dropping planes and their similarities.
Inside Putin’s private jet
The Russian president won’t be slumming it in one of the four private IL-96-300PU planes he flies in, each of which are reported to cost around £390million.
Putin flies in one of four planes, but the specific one he’s using isn’t known until take-off for security reasons.
The customised jet he flew to Helsinki with was seriously opulent. Decor includes golden hues, white leather furniture, and marble-esque features.
It basically looks like a really fancy hotel.
There’s a spacious bedroom complete with a king-sized bed, as well as a large ensuite bathroom where the president can freshen up before landing.
Then there’s a large white sofa where Putin and his guests can lounge or talk through official matters.
Of course for more serious conversations, the jet also boasts a conference room and kitchenette so that the president can host meetings, not to mention there’s a communications system on board too.
Of course if it all gets a bit much, Putin can always head to the onboard gym to work out.
Inside Air Force One
Air Force One boasts some pretty impressive facilities for the US Presidents that step on board – after all, it essentially serves as a White House on-the-go.
(It’s worth noting that he term Air Force One describes any particular Air Force aircraft carrying the president, but here we take a look at the one of the two specially-modified Boeing 747-200B that tend to be used, which Trump flew in in during his trips to Belgium, the UK and Finland.)
The impressive plane boasts over three levels with beige interiors, brown leather seats, dark oak features as well as star-printed carpets.
Like Putin’s plane, there’s everything Trump could need to hold an official meeting from his own office space to a dedicated conference room.
And the president won’t struggle to get some rest amidst all of his travelling, as Air Force One also boasts a lavish bedroom and bathroom.
Feeling peckish? The aircraft’s fridges are equipped to handle 3,000 meals. Feeling unwell? Air Force One includes a medical suite that can function as an operating room, and a doctor is permanently on board.
Want to work out? Just like Putin’s jet, there’s also an onboard gym with all the equipment you could want.
And of course, Air Force One will get you to your destination a lot faster than a usual plane .
