Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has fixed August 14, 2020, for the reopening of restaurants in Lagos State at 50 percent capacity.

Sanwo-Olu made this known during a COVID-19 briefing on Saturday at the State House in Marina.

The Lagos governor said the restaurants and other public places must maintain social distancing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also explained that schools will resume on August 3 to enable exit students to write their examinations.

Speaking further, he disclosed that worship centres (Churches and Mosques) in Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial city, will reopen effective August 7.

Reach.ng reports that Churches and Mosques had been shut in Lagos since March as part of measures to curtail the spread of the novel coronavirus disease. The Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 led by Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) had earlier okayed the reopening of churches and mosques in the country but the Lagos State government insisted that worship centres remained shut.
