The Director in the Centre for Infectious Disease Research, Bayero University Kano, Professor Isa Sadeeq-Abubakar, says the number of COVID-19 cases reported daily in Nigeria is not a true representation of the situation in the country.
He said this on Tuesday, during an interview on Channels Television’s News At 10, while defending the need for the government to halt the resumption of students in schools across the country.
“One thing I want us to understand is that the number of daily cases is not truly a representation of the cases in Nigeria,” the professor said.
He explained that this is because most states are having difficulties in conducting their daily tests, and as a result, many may be living with the virus without being aware.
