A friend died somewhere. Rest in Peace Engnr Mak. Fortunately he had taken me once around his properties. He did mention to me that the DSP living in one of his three bed room flats lives in it free of charge.
I told him to put it down in writing which he did. He gave me a copy. After ten years Mak died. It was later I found out that the wife only knows the home they live as her husband’s and the one in the village.
I knew because she was having problems raising the children which I thought was wrong. I quickly visited and took her to the husbands properties in the city. We found out that the tenants have been crediting the caretakers account over ten years.
We also found out the DSP given to live free of rent had also claimed the six apartment estate. We arrested the agent and did a petition to IGP Onovo. The DSP was put in orderly room and sacked later. The Agent was sentenced to eight years for perjury and OBT.
He is still in prison. This good woman called me to ask what to do. She gave me where the DSP lived which I promptly rejected but advised her to give that six apartment to the husband’s family which she did.
She is happy with her children. If the family struggled the home in the village with her that would have been their end.
They would have lost this statutory gift. This good woman is cruising very well in her husbands legacy. Sometimes when she hears I am in a City she buys ticket for me and fixes it to when I want to leave. This is how to live. Abegeee
