The Academic Staff Union of Universities has commenced a one-month stike, the body reached this decision, Monday, after the National Executive Council marathon meeting in Lagos.
Prof. Musa Abdullahi confirmed this to ringroad.com.ng a search engine, noting that the one month warning strike was to allow government time to address their demands.
He explained that their major demand is the deployment of its own payment systems called UTAS and implementation of the 2009 agreement.
However, Sunday Adebayo,President of National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) has criticized ASUU and Federal Government, saying they are not fair to the Nigerian Students, adding that their action/inaction will definitely affect the Nigerian Education sector and the future of many students
