THE COUPLE HASN’T SPOKEN ABOUT GETTING A DIVORCE
The rumors about Will and Jada’s divorce stemmed from a now-deleted story by Heat Magazine, which was relayed by many other outlets including the Mirror, that consists of a quote from an insider.
The quote reads: “Ever since the Oscars scandal, tensions between them have been palpable. There have been problems for years, but they’re barely speaking right now. If they were to split, Will has a fortune of $350million that Jada would be entitled to half of under Californian law.”
Firstly, the insider hasn’t spoken about the couple heading for a divorce. They just say, “if they were to split”, only talking about the possibility of it.
Furthermore, neither Will nor Jada have addressed rumors about their divorce or even hinted about separating.
Therefore, there is no reason to believe these rumors.
Several rumors surfaced in the days following the Oscars incident.
One of them claimed that the actor was arrested and charged. However, no legal action was taken against Will as Chris Rock declined to file a complaint.
The police told Deadline: “The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.”
Another speculation suggested that Chris was wearing a cheek pad and the on-stage slap was staged.
But, Reuters clarified in their story that the viral picture used by some to claim that Chris wore a cheek pad was in fact ‘altered’.
