Nollywood star actress, Gnevieve Nnaji is a household name. The Imo born thespian who is highly celebrated has also had a fair share of rumors and lies leveled against her by people.

Fans of Genevieve Nnaji, the Nollywood screen goddess, on Tuesday, raised concerns over her safety.

This was after she deleted pictures and videos on her Instagram page and unfollowed everyone.

Genevieve is one of the most followed Nigerian actresses on Instagram with 8.5 million followers.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the extremely private actress on Monday, deleted all the videos and pictures on her Instagram page.

The move has left fans disturbed about her safety.

Genevieve was the first actor to win the Africa Movie Academy Award in a leading role in 2005.

Dr Penking, on his twitter handle @drpenking, said that it was unusual, adding that “someone should please check on her. No one is above mental breakdown.”

The actress has had the ugly, bad and good sides of her career and she did not let any of her experiences define her. She has also made news headlines for different reasons, including controversies.

Her Love Story with Dbanj

The actress and single mother one one has been rumored to be in a relationship with star singer, Dbanj. Although they were spotted in odd and compromising positions, they later debunked the news in an interview with Vanguard where D’Banj also confirmed they never dated, but were close friends. “I think Genevieve is a stunner and I could date or love her. But we didn’t date. She’s my friend and a star you know. We’re close and we both understand that things couldn’t work out.”

Her Death Rumor in 2005 and 2016

The actress was rumored to have died in 2005, she debunked the news and in 2016, the rumors surfaced again. This was after another actress with a similar name kicked the bucket. The actress who died was Genevieve Nene, on May 4, 2016. Nnaji was reached out to by different media outfits for clarification and the actress said she was in South Africa at that time enjoying her vacation.

Her Secrete wedding in 2017

Rumors flew around in 2017 that the super star diva walked down the aisle in a secrete wedding in faraway Portugal.

It was also reported that she chose a secret wedding ceremony because she had a lot of relationships in the past that ended with backlash and out of fear, she doesn’t want this one to end same way. It was also alleged that the actress was set to ditch Nigeria for another country.

The identity of this “lucky” man became a mystery to many of her fans. However, she has never disclosed the identity of her “husband” and she has never confirmed or denied marrying any man.

Her Love story with former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar

The actress has once been linked to Nigeria’s former vice president and presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar. Rumor mongers alleged that they were in fact in a serious romantic relationship.

However, in 2010, Nnaji denied ever dating the married politician in a TV show. “Nigeria Films” also quoted her to have denied the allegation in an interview with them by saying: “why will Nigerians not bother themselves with bigger problems and leave little Genevieve alone? I do not know the Vice- President, not to talk of dating or having dated him”
