A lady was reportedly shot in the head inside a residence in Middletown on Sunday, and a suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident. Richard Shelby Adkins is the name given to him by Middletown police. “I didn’t know what was going on at the time,” said Jacalynn, who lives down the street. She gave no information about her last name.
The victim has not been named by police, and they have not provided any information regarding his current status. According to police reports, she was taken by ambulance to Atrium Medical Center. The location of Adkins’ capture by police was the 2000 block of Pearl Avenue. He is incarcerated in Middletown City Jail for felony assault and has been arrested for the alleged crime.
When Jacalynn heard the argument, she claimed her main concern was the safety of her children. “I was trying to keep everyone calm,” she explained. “I have to make sure everyone is safe.” Marcus Day, a second neighbor, was asked about his reaction and replied: “I was shocked at first because I didn’t expect it.” “Like it came completely out of the blue.” Day was present when the incident happened at the company where she worked. “When I was a kid this town was great and I saw it go downhill,” he added. “I’ve seen him go down a lot.”
