The funeral rites for late Justice of the Supreme Court, Chima Centus Nweze, have been scheduled to hold between October 10 and October 22.
According to a released program by the funeral planning committee, a valedictory session will be held at the Supreme Court Abuja on October 10 to honor the late jurist.
Other activities lined up before the funeral include vigils in Abuja and Enugu, night of tributes in Enugu, as well as a session at the Enugu State High Court.
The funeral mass and interment will take place on October 20 in Obollo-Afor, Enugu State, where Justice Nweze hailed from.
Supreme Court Justice Nweze passed away on July 29, 2022 at the age of 64. The respected jurist died while on admission at a hospital in Abuja.
He was appointed to the Supreme Court bench in 2018 and contributed immensely to jurisprudence in Nigeria during his stellar career.
The funeral planning committee is chaired by Justice Obande Ogbunya of the Court of Appeal, with Justice Peter Obiorah also of the appellate court serving as secretary.
The committee outlined a two-week long program to honor the memory of the eminent late jurist. The judiciary and bar are expected to stand still on October 20 to bid farewell to Justice Nweze.
