Anambra State’s Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Patrick Agha Mba, and his wife, who were kidnapped on Friday, have regained their freedom from their abductors, a top government official confirmed on Saturday night.
The official, who requested anonymity, stated in an interview, “The Commissioner and his wife are back and safe.”
Hon. Patrick Agha Mba and his wife were abducted in Kogi State on Friday, August 16, while en route to Abuja. During the incident, an aide to the Commissioner was tragically killed by the kidnappers.
Sources indicate that the Commissioner and his wife were released on Saturday, although no official statement has been issued yet regarding their freedom as of the time of this report.
News of their release has been circulating on social media, with many expressing a mix of joy and sorrow – relief for the safe return of the Commissioner and his wife, but grief for the loss of the Commissioner’s aide.
