The Benue State Police Command said it will hold a medical outreach as part of activities to celebrate the maiden National Police Day scheduled for April 7.
Commissioner of Police, Steve Yabanet, stated this in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Benue Command, CSP Catherine Anene in Makurdi yesterday.
CP Yabanet National Police Day commemorates the selfless services and value that police officers add to the society.
“The command has planned activities for the celebration which includes; medical outreach, awareness and educational programmes in schools on cultism and violence extremism, sanitation within communities.”
He also said they would hold a town hall meeting to engage stakeholders in discussions that will improve policing in Benue state.
In recognition of persons who have supported the command to attain this height, the CP expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for his endless support to the command.
He also appreciated traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, youth leaders and other stakeholders who have been of immense support to the command.
